This position is for an Airframe Designer for the Low Boom Flight Demonstrator. This position requires an Airframe Design Engineer to use their technical expertise to design aircraft structure and subsystems installations. The candidate will apply his or her understanding of the technical principles of structural design toward the solution of technical problems. The candidate will be responsible for layout and detail modeling of aircraft structure, structural assemblies, layouts and detail drawings using CATIA V5, participating in trade studies, creating and maintaining interface control drawings, and coordination with Integrated Product Teams.
The candidate will work under some supervision of senior engineers and will be expected to coordinate with other teams within the program.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Selected applicant does not require a clearance to start, but will be required to obtain a secret clearance after starting.
CAD experience such as: CATIA, Unigraphics, Solidworks, NX, CREO or equivalent
Experience in Structural Design in industry or school classes
Bachelor or above Degree in an Engineering Technical Discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Civil Engineering
CATIA V5 Experience
2 or more years experience in aerospace structure design
Experience with a PLM (Enovia, Teamcenter, Windchill, etc.)
Experience with composite structure design or manufacturing
Experience creating and/or modifying drawings
Experience with hand analysis for initial part layout
Experience with GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Excellent writing and communication skills
