Why 3d printing is 'hot new technology'
Nottingham is fast becoming a national centre for 3D printing, says a university spin-out company that has moved into its own office.
Added Scientific, which was set up by University of Nottingham academics, has taken on its first employees after opening a base at Nottingham Science Park.
The company hopes to grow the business by working with clients in defence, pharmaceutical, automotive and aerospace markets to implement 3D printing – also known as additive manufacturing – in product creation.
It also hopes to collaborate with similar companies in the city, which include Xaar – the global printing firm that recently moved into the science park – Beeston-based Metron Advanced Equipment and Attenborough Dental, in Hockley.Source: http://www.nottinghampost.com/why-3d-printing-is-hot-new-technology-and-nottingham-has-the-experts/story-30267388-detail/story.html
