Safran vp talks composite manufacturing at unh ceo forum

Safran’s vice president capped the University of New Hampshire CEO Forum with a discussion about the Rochester company’s next generation jet engine and the importance of its relationship with Great Bay Community College.

Patrick Haywood, the fifth and final speaker on the UNH CEO Forum’s 2016-17 schedule, spoke Thursday morning to a breakfast crowd of about 60 people, most of them executives from businesses throughout the region, at Huddleston Hall.

His topics ranged from the overall history of Safran, a France-headquartered maker of aerospace, defense and security components, to the Rochester plant’s specific role in the creation of a new generation of aircraft engines for General Electric using composite materials for the fan blade assembly.
